We are committed to protecting public health in planning processes. Whether it's public or private construction projects, we examine how they could affect health. Our goal is to prevent or reduce health risks caused by environmental influences.
We participate in the planning of construction sites and building projects that may affect health. Among other things, we look at how noise, air pollutants, odours or electric and magnetic fields affect people. This is particularly important when new residential areas are to be built near industrial estates, busy roads or railway lines. Our goal is to prevent negative health effects caused by environmental influences and to eliminate or reduce existing pollution as much as possible. To this end, we work directly with project developers and urban planners.
Our work is based on the Public Health Service Act of the State of Bremen (ÖGDG). We also refer to the Building Code to ensure that urban development takes the health of the population into account.
