Exam eligibility

If you live in Bremen and are unable to take an examination due to illness, we will issue a medical certificate for your examination office.

Please note: Please report to the office of the public health service immediately, at the latest by 9 a.m. on the day of the examination. You can contact us in person, by telephone (+49 421 361 151 22) or by email. You can also use our online registration form to request a medical certificate.

What do we do?

We will check whether you are unable to take your exam due to illness or only under special conditions. If this is the case, we will issue a certificate for your examination office.

Documents required for us to issue a certificate:

  • Valid ID, e.g. identity card, passport
  • Current certificate from your attending physician stating your medical condition and the duration of your inability to take the exam
  • If available: laboratory, X-ray or other diagnostic documents
  • In the case of mental illness, if available: statement from your treating therapist

Important

  • Inability to take an examination cannot be certified retroactively.
  • The examination is subject to a fee. If you are a civil servant, you do not have to pay anything.
