Our goal is to close vaccination gaps in Bremen. That is why our school vaccination team has been vaccinating children and young people in Bremen schools against HPV (human papillomavirus) and MMR/V (measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chickenpox)) for many years. Vaccinations are one of the best ways to prevent disease. The service is voluntary.
What do we do?
We work with schools in Bremen and offer vaccinations for pupils. Parents receive all the necessary information about our voluntary vaccination programme via the schools. If parents give their written consent, we come to the schools and vaccinate the children and young people on site.
Who can take advantage of our offer?
We offer HPV vaccinations to all pupils in Year 8 in Bremen. We also offer MMR/V vaccinations to children and young people in pre-school and language classes. Parents and guardians receive information about our offer via the schools.
What is the legal basis?
We vaccinate in accordance with the Infection Protection Act (§ 20 IfSG). This law states that we are allowed to vaccinate children against infectious diseases. We only vaccinate if the parents have given their consent in advance. Our vaccination programme is voluntary.
