Department of Municipal Addiction Support

We are responsible for promoting, networking and further developing services for people with addiction problems (legal and illegal substances as well as behavioural addictions). These services are funded in accordance with subsidy law, i.e. with public funds from the city of Bremen.

Addiction is one of the most widespread mental illnesses in Germany. Not all addictions are the same – addiction has many faces. Our goal is to expand the support system for people with addiction problems in the city of Bremen so that those affected can find the help they need.

What do we do?

• We provide expert advice, support and review institutions and projects in addiction support that offer or wish to offer grant-funded services.
• Support throughout the entire funding process.
• Networking, coordination and management of grant-funded addiction support measures.
• Developing new strategies to improve care for people with addiction problems and addictive disorders in the city of Bremen.
