Corona (SARS-CoV-2)

In December 2019, there were many cases of pneumonia in China. On 7 January 2020, a new coronavirus was identified as the cause. The disease caused by the virus is called COVID-19. COVID stands for Corona Virus Disease.

Why should I get vaccinated?
The COVID-19 vaccination effectively protects you from severe illness. It also helps protect other people, especially those who cannot be vaccinated or are particularly at risk. A booster vaccination can further reduce the risk of severe disease.

Where can I get vaccinated?
General practitioners can administer COVID-19 vaccinations. If you do not have a GP, you can find a practice using the practice finder of the Bremen Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. In addition, some qualified pharmacies in Bremen offer vaccinations.
