Initial examinations & vaccinations for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (umA)

We conduct initial medical examinations in the safe environment of the initial reception centre. We examine unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, administer vaccinations, provide advice on health issues and treat young people with medical problems.

What do we do?

  • If you do not speak German or English very well, a video interpreter will assist during the examination.
  • During the examination, one of our doctors will take a close look at your health. We check whether you have any diseases such as tuberculosis and test your hearing and vision. If necessary, we will organise further medical treatment for you.
  • You will have the opportunity to be vaccinated against diseases.
  • If you are vaccinated, you will receive an international vaccination certificate. You will also receive a Bremen health booklet in which we will record your health data.

Who does our work help?

Our services are for refugee children and young people who have come to Bremen without their parents and are temporarily living in the initial reception centre.
