We issue medical examination certificates. With this certificate, young people can be examined by a doctor of their choice. This examination is important before they start their training or work.
All young people between the ages of 15 and 18 who have their main residence in Bremen can obtain the examination authorisation certificate from us. To do so, they must come to us in person or with a parent or guardian and bring a valid identity card.
The legal basis is the Youth Employment Protection Act (§ 32 JArbSchG). It stipulates that young people must undergo a medical examination before entering working life. They may only start work with a current certificate confirming this examination.
A young person is defined as someone who is at least 15 but not yet 18 years old. (Section 2 (2) of the Youth Employment Protection Act)
In addition to the examination authorisation certificates issued by us, questionnaires and forms from the doctors must be submitted for the examinations.
The relevant questionnaires and forms, as well as explanatory information on the various examinations, can be found here
